Material Handler
Job description
Work Flexibility: Onsite Location: 5900 Optical Ct, San Jose, CA Shift: Monday – Friday 5:30 AM – 2:15 PM Summary: As the Material Handler, you will support inventory accuracy and material flow within a warehouse and manufacturing environment, with a primary focus on cycle counting, inventory control, and resolving inventory discrepancies. You will investigate variances, identify root causes, maintain accurate inventory records, and proactively communicate issues and recommended solutions while also supporting receiving, picking, staging, and other material movements. This role is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable taking ownership of inventory issues with minimal supervision. What You Will Do: Perform cycle counts and physical inventories to maintain inventory accuracy and identify discrepancies across products, parts, bins, and serial-controlled inventory. Investigate inventory discrepancies, perform root cause analysis (RCA) and stock investigations, and proactively recommend or implement corrective actions to prevent recurring issues. Maintain accurate inventory records and audit trails within SAP/EWM and other business systems, including material movements, transfer postings, bin management, and inventory adjustments. Monitor inventory accuracy and related KPIs, identify trends or risks, and communicate inventory health, discrepancies, and recommended actions to leadership and cross-functional partners. Support day-to-day material handling activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, staging, docking, and movement of materials, while following established inventory controls. Partner with Production, Customer Service, Engineering, and warehouse teams to resolve material and inventory issues, prioritize competing needs, and ensure materials are available to support operations. Use Excel and system-generated data to research inventory issues, analyze information, create basic reports, and support data-driven decisions when needed. Follow established quality, FDA, OSHA, and safety requirements while supporting Lean/6S and continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy and operational efficiency. Experience
performing cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliation, or investigating inventory discrepancies Basic computer skills and experience using inventory, warehouse, or ERP systems Ability to stand/walk for extended periods of time Ability to lift, push, and/or pull up to 40 lbs. These roles could have travel expectations, and you must work within the country of the job requisition location. Field-based – You can expect to regularly work a majority to 100% of time at customer facilities and has a set territory or expectation to travel within a set boundary. Almost all sales roles would likely be qualified as field-based. Onsite – Role is 100% located at a Stryker facility. Some ad hoc flexibility may be available depending on role, level, and job requirements. Manufacturing roles and any role that requires physical presence at the office would qualify under this category. Hybrid – You can expect to regularly work in both an alternate workplace and a Stryker facility. Roles that are partially remote or co-located would qualify as hybrid, and the expectation to be onsite would be defined and agreed upon by your manager/supervisor.
