Job Description This position plays a critical role in supporting bookstore and Business Services operations by performing accurate, efficient, and customer-focused cashier functions. The role is responsible for maintaining precise and verifiable financial records, ensuring all transactions comply with federal, state and agency regulations, policies, and procedures. Through strong attention to detail and adherence to sound accounting practices, this position helps safeguard institutional assets, promotes fiscal accountability, and delivers reliable service to students, faculty, staff, and the public. Salary Range: $22.62-30.62/hr, $47,231-63,935 annually Minimum

Qualifications

Knowledge of basic accounting and business principles sufficient to monitor, collect and analyze data, and implement minor procedural and transactional changes in fiscal operations. Skills in math sufficient to compute totals, averages, and percentages of numerical data and to check or reconcile data. Knowledge of standard computer software programs for word processing and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Word, Excel), sufficient to create and modify a variety of documents including, but not limited to, spreadsheets, tables, charts and graphs. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers. Knowledge of customer service practices and principles sufficient to identify each customer’s needs and meet quality standards for services, that result in customer satisfaction. Preferred Qualification Understand and effectively carry out complex oral and written directions. Working knowledge of social media outlets and ability to communicate in a professional manner using those outlets. Time management and organizational skills sufficient to organize workload and meet deadlines. Working knowledge of MinnState accounting system. Knowledge of laws, policies, procedures, and Legislative Auditor, Department of Finance and State Treasurer requirements for handling and depositing state funds. Ability to mentor, train, and educate others. Working knowledge of retail store practices and procedures. Other

Requirements

Ability to move and/or transport up to 50 lbs. on a periodic basis. Ability to maintain a stationary position for extended periods of time. Ability to tolerate extreme temperatures on a periodic basis.
