Responsibilities
Incumbent is accountable for all duties of this job and other projects and responsibilities may be added at the City’s discretion. Employees must be able to perform the essential duties of this job with or without a reasonable accommodation. Conduct swimming classes according to Lakewood Swim Instructor course descriptions and requirements. Provide competent leadership and a safe environment for students during class. Completion and distribution of report cards and applicable swim lessons forms in a timely manner. Perform other duties as assigned. Reporting Relationships Supervision Received: Receives general supervision from the Aquatics Specialist and supplementary direction from the seasonal pool manager/assistant pool manager. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Ability to work effectively with team members, participants, and the public in a positive way. Ability to employ effective instructional methods and swim instructor techniques, as well as the ability to model those techniques to subordinate staff and swim lesson participants.
