Reporting to the Assistant Director in the Office of Student Engagement, The Student Office
Experience
Curator will focus on the holistic experience of Student Employees and Leaders that engage and interact with The Office of Student Engagement across the 1st and 2nd Floor of 39 W 13th Street. The Office of Student Engagement (OSE) at The New School supports the university's educational mission by fostering opportunities for meaningful engagement and connections beyond the classroom. OSE encourages students to actively participate in the university community by joining or starting a student organization, engaging in recreational activities, or attending events and programs organized by the Student Activities Board. OSE provides numerous opportunities to get involved on campus and enhance a student’s leadership potential. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the planning, promotion, and implementation of various major office leadership events. Support the onboarding and collegiality of new student employees and support the Assistant Director in the holistic training and development of Student Office Assistants. Staff in-person desks across the 1st and 2nd Floor of 29 W 13th Street, providing customer service to in-person visitors, over the phone, or virtually; Must maintain a confidential work environment. Assist in the marketing plan and promotion of OSE Leadership programs, including review and maintenance of websites and social media accounts. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS This position requires a Federal Work-Study Award. This position requires previous employment or student leadership position within or affiliated with the Office of Student Engagement (OSE) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Ability to creatively problem solve, multitask, and function in a collaborative work environment. Capacity to provide and receive constructive critique. This position frequently needs to traverse multiple levels of stairs and ladders, position oneself into various levels to reach items, and move boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across offices, campus locations, and storage spaces.
