Responsibilities
Deliver comprehensive welding courses covering structural welding, pipe welding, brazing, and soldering techniques. Act as a subject matter expert for instructional designers and content creators.
Experience
with Instructional Design and content creation is a plus. Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on training sessions to students, ensuring they develop proficiency in various welding processes. Participate as an instructor for Boot Camps and New Hire Orientation as needed. Emphasize and enforce safety protocols and procedures in all welding activities, maintaining a safe learning environment for students and staff. Collaborate with the education team to develop and enhance welding curriculum, incorporating industry best practices and emerging technologies. Evaluate student progress through practical assessments, written exams, and performance evaluations, providing constructive feedback for improvement. Keep Workday LMS transcripts up-to-date by tracking student progress daily. Support a team of mentors who will provide on the job instruction for students going through the welding program. Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in proper working condition for training purposes. Stay updated with advancements in welding technologies, techniques, and safety standards, participating in professional development activities as needed. Provide mentorship and guidance to students, offering assistance with career planning and in-house certification exams. Other duties related to training and training administrative tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in structural welding, pipe welding, brazing, and soldering in a professional setting. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification required. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional certification or training in welding education preferred. Attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to students of varying skill levels. Comfortable with Microsoft and Google Suite applications, and Learning Management Software. Proven ability to teach and mentor individuals in a classroom and hands-on setting, fostering a positive and engaging learning environment. Preferably 3 or more years of instruction experience. Strong commitment to safety practices and procedures, with a focus on instilling safe work habits in students and proper use of PPE. Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, students, and industry partners in a dynamic educational environment. Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and student needs, with a willingness to continuously improve teaching methods and curriculum.
