Department: Fraternity & Sorority Life Time Type: Part time FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Job Description: Summary: The Center for Student Involvement (CSI) is the hub for the student experience at American University. CSI facilitates leadership development, organizational advising, and programs that help foster a sense of belonging for the next generation of changemakers. Our office is home to Student Government, Student Activities Council, Student Media, AU Club Council, Recognized Student Organizations, Fraternity & Sorority Life, and the Graduate Leadership Council. The Center is seeking an undergraduate student to serve as a Fraternity & Sorority Life Assistant within the Center’s portfolio. The Fraternity & Sorority Life Assistant is responsible for supporting marketing and administrative efforts. In collaboration with the professional and graduate staff, they participate in social media campaigns, the development of marketing materials, event content coverage, newsletter creation, and other administrative duties.
Essential Functions
Assist with content creation and management of social media platforms. Create marketing materials for Fraternity & Sorority Life to utilize when attending school events and on the website. Provide administrative support to Fraternity & Sorority Life team; managing emails, tracking data, data analysis, creation of documents, and other tasks. Assist with event promotion and marketing efforts, including designing graphics, creating social media content, and distributing flyers around campus. Capture event coverage, such as photos and videos, for social media and archival purposes. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Part-time. 6 hours per week. Salary Range: $18.40 per hour. Required

This position is restricted to current students/undergraduates enrolled in an American University degree program for the current academic year. Must have an active Federal Work Study (FWS) award. Self-motivated and well-organized. Positive attitude with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Must be willing to take initiative and be observant. Ability to prioritize tasks and work well as a team member. Quality customer service is a priority. Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
