About the Role
This is a foundational product engineering role at a small, high-caliber founding team building an AI-powered platform for private market operations — serving asset servicers and asset managers. You will lead the design and development of the core interface through which operations teams interact with AI agents: reviewing outputs, approving workflows, and acting on automated recommendations with confidence.
You will have outsized influence on the product's design system, UX patterns, and the human-in-the-loop experiences that make AI output trustworthy and actionable. This is a rare opportunity to shape how financial operations professionals experience AI at work, from the ground up.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain the product's design system and UX patterns for a complex, workflow-driven application.
- Build product interfaces that connect users to AI agents and diverse data sources (e.g. emails, portals, bank feeds, file storage).
- Design and implement human-in-the-loop flows for reviewing, approving, and acting on AI agent outputs such as journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting packages.
- Conduct user research and usability testing with operations stakeholders to identify pain points and iteratively refine product features.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 1–7 years of professional frontend development experience.
- Strong product intuition and UX craft — you think in flows and user outcomes, not just components.
- Proficiency in Tailwind CSS for UI styling; comfort with TypeScript and React.
- Experience developing, documenting, or evolving design systems for complex applications.
- A track record building workflow-driven interfaces that involve human review, exception handling, or approval steps.
- Proven ability to conduct user research and usability testing to inform design decisions.
Nice to Have:
- Interest in AI-agent products and designing for trust when presenting automated outputs.
- Familiarity with private markets, financial operations, or enterprise B2B SaaS environments.
- Enthusiasm for working in a small, high-caliber founding team environment where your decisions have lasting product impact.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: €70,000 – €110,000 per year, depending on experience.
- Visa sponsorship is available for this role.
Location
This is an on-site role based in Berlin, Germany. You will be working alongside the founding team in person. Visa sponsorship is available for qualified candidates who require it.
