High School graduate. Demonstrated ability to work and multitask effectively in a complex and fast-paced setting. Organizational leadership experience. A valid driver’s license. Ability to complete the William & Mary Golf Cart Training.

Previous residential camp experience.

Experience

working with K-12 students. Conditions of Employment: All hourly employees are subject to the limitations of the Virginia Manpower Control Program and total hours worked may not exceed on average 29 hours per week, over the course of a twelve month period beginning May 1 each year. This is a non-exempt position, eligible to receive overtime in accordance with the Fair Labor Standards Act. This position may be subject to overtime during high peak times, etc. as directed and approved by the supervisor. This is a term-limited position, subject to the continued availability of funding. Duties

80% - Residence Advisor Oversight: Support Resident Advisors in maintaining a high level of vigilance in the supervision, safety, and management of campers during all camp activities and transit between activities. Supervise a group of Resident Advisors to ensure all procedures and policies are followed. Lead evening staff meetings for Resident Advisors to debrief the day, relay information, and address concerns. Enthusiastically engage and effectively communicate expectations with campers. Be attentive to potential camper concerns and apprise appropriate staff members of issues. Reside in the residence halls for the entire duration of the program. Assist in transporting students as needed for the 2-week duration. As a member of the Leadership Team, model, facilitate, and purposefully influence the culture to cultivate a positive camp climate. 10% - Communication: Monitor the submission of Resident Advisors’ Daily Reports each day to ensure they are completed in a timely manner. Act as a liaison between campers, Resident Advisors, and On-site Assistant Program Coordinators, Student Support Specialists, and Instructors. Act as a liaison with WM staff. Assist in the planning and presentation of the Staff Orientation. 10% - Event Coordination: Assist in the implementation of weekend and evening activities. Assist with opening and closing ceremonies and the final Class presentation day, as needed. Support the On-Site Assistant Program Coordinator with any tasks related to the program.
