The Shared Services Controller is responsible for leading the activities within the Mexico Shared Services Center. This role ensures accurate and timely execution of finance and accounting processes, which include Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Billing. This include related oversight with a continuous improvement of operations supporting multiple divisions. The ideal candidate is a strategic finance leader with strong technical accounting expertise, experience managing shared service operations, strong verbal and written communication skills and a proven ability to lead high-performing teams in a multinational environment. Responsibilities
Shared Services Leadership Lead the Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Billing teams. Establish and improve service level agreements (SLAs) and monitor operational performance. Drive standardization and harmonization of finance processes across supported regions and business segments Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Responsible for all Mexican statutory compliance requirements Internal Controls & Compliance Ensure compliance with SOX and internal control frameworks. Maintain strong governance over financial processes. Support internal and external audits. Identify and mitigate financial and operational risks. Ensure compliance with US GAAP and local Mexican accounting and tax regulations. Business Partnership Partner with corporate finance/accounting leadership and extended operationally impacted teams. Act as the primary contact for stakeholders supported by the Shared Services Center. Process Improvement Identify automation opportunities using ERP systems and digital tools. Lead continuous improvement initiatives. Establish and improve service level agreements. Support ERP or other technology implementations, upgrades, and finance transformation projects. Team Leadership Recruit, manage, coach, and develop a team of accounting professionals. Conduct regular performance evaluations. Foster employee engagement and talent development. Promote collaboration across global finance teams.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent. CPA License (Mexico or international equivalent) optional. MBA or Master's Degree is a plus.
Experience
10+ years of progressive Shared Services experience. 5+ years in a leadership role within a Shared Services Center or Global Business Services organization.
Experience
working in multinational companies. Strong knowledge of accounting and internal financial controls.
Experience
with SOX compliance and external audit support. Automation/Robotic Process Automation (RPA) or leveraging AI Process standardization and automation ERP implementation or migration projects Technical Skills Mexican statutory accounting and tax knowledge. ERP experience (Sage Intacct, AR platform,…). Advanced Excel skills.
Experience
with Power BI, or other reporting tools preferred.
