Newport News, Virginia Hiring Range $18.20 - $23.68/Hourly Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs. Overview Transportation Supervisor ensures communications between transportation and other departments to meet the needs of each patient requiring transport is addressed with a level of excellence that is patient focused, provided timely and offered with compassion while focusing on the patient experience. Oversight of team members productivity as well as scheduling, timekeeping, performance management and onboarding responsibilities will be completed on a regular basis. Completes and reports out monthly statistics and data maintenance along with continuous work in process improvement to ensure optimal patient experience. What you will do Responsible for maintaining department hiring through Talent Acquisition. Interviews, trains, and develops new staff. Actively engages staff to encourage retention within the unit or the health system. Responsible for team member schedules based on fluctuating patient volume. Prepares staffing schedule to maintain adequate coverage and keep overtime to a minimum. Performs timekeeping functions as needed to support department operations. Responsible for monitoring employee performance through data based metrics. Maintains excellent communications with employees on day to day operations, procedures, policies, SBARQ’s, and RHS communication summaries. Responsible for annual employee review process. Facilitates communication between employees and Department Director as well as hospital administration. Accountable for Great Place to Work results and departmental action plans. Demonstrates and maintains a professional relationship with the nursing and ancillary staff and facilitation of care to transport patients. Demonstrates the ability to address concerns in a positive manner and follow through in a timely manner. Proactively anticipating needs of patients, clinical staff, and imaging units. Subject matter expert and high level proficiency of transportation software, equipment, and policies. Involved in department PI projects with director. Serves as a resource to others. Supports team and patient care as needed in the transportation of patients.

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or GED, (Required) Associates Degree, Healthcare, Business or Related Field (Preferred)

Experience

1 year Supervisory level experience (Required) 3-4 years

Experience
