Job Summary
MacLean-Fogg is hiring a Tapping Operator at our Savanna, Illinois manufacturing facility. You will operate mechanical equipment, troubleshoot production issues, inspect parts, and support safe, quality-focused manufacturing.
- Location: 2551 Wacker Road, Savanna, IL
- Work Arrangement: On-site
- Schedule: 3rd Shift, Monday-Friday, 10:30 PM-7:00 AM
- Pay: $16.00-$19.00/hour, depending on experience
- Other Compensation: $2.00/hour 3rd-shift differential
- Employment Type: Full-time / Hourly
What You'll Do as a Tapping Operator
- Operate assigned mechanical equipment safely and efficiently.
- Inspect produced items to ensure they meet quality requirements.
- Perform moderately advanced equipment troubleshooting and make necessary adjustments.
- Use measuring instruments to verify product specifications.
- Read and interpret blueprints when applicable.
- Complete first-piece inspections as needed.
- Complete required production and quality documentation fully and accurately.
- Follow all safety, environmental, and quality policies and procedures.
What You'll Bring
Required Qualifications
- At least three years of relevant experience.
- Experience setting up and operating machinery and applying that knowledge to complex tasks.
- Skill in machine operation and precision measurement.
- Ability to interpret work instructions and follow written and verbal directions.
- Ability to complete accurate documentation.
- Basic mathematical skills.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- This role requires repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Employees in this role stand for extended periods.
- The position requires pushing and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent bending and stooping are required.
- The work is performed in a noisy manufacturing environment.
