Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Senior Research Associate to join our Tissue Dissection Group within our Molecular & Cell Biology group. The successful candidate will play a critical role in generating high-quality cells and tissue samples from primary human organs, contributing to various Vertex research programs. This position requires expertise in human tissue dissection, a commitment to excellence, and a deep respect for the gift of donated human tissues. Key

Responsibilities

Perform dissection of human tissues, including dorsal root ganglia (DRG), lungs, kidneys and precision-cut tissue slices. Develop and optimize dissection workflows and methods to enhance efficiency and quality. Process donated tissues promptly, including outside normal working hours and on weekends, as required. Maintain exceptional documentation practices, including accurate logging of donor information and registration of tissue and cell samples in the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN). Collaborate effectively within a fast-paced research environment, contributing to the success of multiple research programs. Knowledge and Skills: Expertise in human tissue dissection, particularly DRG, lung, and precision-cut tissue slices.

Experience

in method development and process optimization for tissue dissection workflows.

Experience

in organ perfusion and or precision cut tissue slice models Proven experience in the procurement and/or dissection of human organs and DRGs. Proficiency in maintaining and utilizing Electronic Lab Notebooks (ELN). Strong organizational and documentation skills. Required

Qualifications

Master’s Degree (or equivalent) in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines with 1+ years of relevant experience, OR Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, or related disciplines with 4+ years of relevant experience. Availability to work early mornings, weekends and after business hours as needed. Strong multitasking abilities, attention to detail, and capacity to work independently. Pay Range

$76,400 - $114,600 Disclosure Statement: The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
