Pay Range

$30.70 - $46.05 Position Highlights: Shift Schedule: Medical Technologist, Hematology, Full-Time Days Department: Hematology Location: Winston Salem, NC Education/Experience/Certifications to Qualify: Bachelor's degree and successful completion of a National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) Medical Technologist program, five years' clinical lab experience, or two years' clinical lab experience with Medical Lab Tech (MLT) certification. Previous experience as Medical Technologist preferred. Eligible for Medical Technologist certification (ASCP) or equivalent certification. Hematology experience is preferred but not required. Will consider MLT or MT. How You'll Impact Patient Care: Your responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Assure accurate and timely performance of patient procedures and/or issuance of blood products. Assure accurate and timely performance of results reporting, QC and QA procedures according to departmental policy. Follow proper safety and identification procedures when dealing with patients and/or specimens under any circumstance or environment to prevent the spread of bloodborne and/or airborne diseases. Improve work skills through self-study and continuing education. Contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the section and department. Exhibit and promote the professional image of laboratories. Adhere to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building. Skills/

Qualifications

Ability to communicate on a professional level with physicians, nurses and other ancillary professional staff when discussing procedures. Work Environment: Frequent exposure to infections, contagious diseases, and the risk of bloodborne diseases. Exposure to hazardous anesthetic agents, body fluids, waste, odorous chemicals and specimens. Subject to electrical, radiant energy and radiation hazards. Exposure to a variety of electro-mechanical/power equipment. Exposure to housekeeping/cleaning agents/chemicals. Subject to injury from moving parts of equipment. Subject to long irregular hours.
