Job Summary

32-hours a week (8-hour shifts) Monday through Friday. The ideal candidate will have a BSN, one year of RN experience and a strong interest in research nursing. IV placement, phlebotomy, and clinical research experience is preferred. Diabetes certification or willingness to obtain preferred. Great opportunity for a The Massachusetts General Hospital Diabetes Research Center seeks a highly motivated Clinical Research Nurse to support the Diabetes in Pregnancy Program. Reporting to the Nurse Director, this individual will join a collaborative team of diabetes physicians, nurses, research coordinators, and educators and work directly with research participants and clinical staff in a large academic medical center. The Clinical Research Nurse will primarily support pregnancy and diabetes studies involving oral glucose tolerance testing, continuous glucose monitoring, biospecimen collection, and novel treatments. The nurse will work closely with pregnant participants and their newborns and receive direct mentorship from principal investigator Dr. Camille E. Powe and an interdisciplinary team with expertise in endocrinology, obstetrics, maternal-fetal medicine, epidemiology, biostatistics, and clinical trials. As a valued member of the Powe Lab, the Clinical Research Nurse will collaborate with clinical and hospital teams to advance high-quality research and participant care. The role offers meaningful involvement in innovative pregnancy and diabetes research within a multidisciplinary environment. Summary: Accountable for interpreting the plan of medical care, assessment of patients' clinical decision-making regarding nursing care, assuring nursing care is provided in a safe and competent manner, providing individualized nursing care, and evaluating nursing care for groups of patients. Essential Functions

  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports, and records.
  • Administer medications to patients and monitor patients for reactions or side effects.
  • Record patients' medical information and vital signs.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients' conditions.
  • Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Modify patient treatment plans as indicated by patients' responses and conditions.

Education

Associate's Degree Nursing required or Bachelor's Degree Nursing preferred Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Registered Nurse [RN - State License] - Generic - HR Only required

Experience

Clinical nursing experience 0-1 year required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Familiarity with the principles and skills needed for practical nursing to provide patient care and treatment. - Knowledgeable of the care required by respective age groups for which care is being provided. - Ability to maintain confidentiality and secure sensitive information. - Knowledge of medical terminology. - Excellent verbal and communication skills. - Ability to accurately screen and triage acute patients.

Pay Range
