Duties

Organizes, schedules, coordinates and monitors the post-secondary adult vocational program to ensure effective operations and activities in compliance with state and federal standards and guidelines. • Organizes, schedules and coordinates facilities, equipment, materials and activities ensures adequate supplies and equipment available. Ensures proper maintenance of facilities and equipment. • Monitors, verifies, administers and records standardized examinations in accordance with standards and guidelines. • Monitors all phases of ongoing programs and prepares and submits reports to ensure adherence to all standards and guidelines. • Interviews, screens and recommends for hire certified instructors. May also provide instructional support for program(s). • Evaluates instructors, courses and curriculum to ensure effective program provided for students. • Solicits input from outside agencies regarding courses needed for program certification or to enhance program offerings. • Acts as liaison to local outside agencies. Qualifications

The position requires at least a Bachelor’s degree and at least three years of prior-related work experience. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting experience for education. Technical certification and/or licensure also may be required for some programs.

Preferred Qualifications

This position prefers a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of prior-related work experience in technical inspection and testing of metals or welding. Substitution of work experience for education is allowed. The position requires at least a High School diploma or GED equivalent if substituting work experience for education. A current American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) technical certification is preferred. Applicants without a CWI certification will be expected to obtain it as a condition of employment. Prefer applicants with: (1) broad knowledge of welding applications, procedures, specifications, industry codes and standards, and applied metallurgy, (2) experience with SMAW, GTAW, GSAW, FCAW and PIPE (3) effective oral and written communication skills, (4) computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, and Outlook), (5) demonstrated leadership skills, (6) strong organizational skills and attention to detail (7) established customer service background and (8) adult vocational teaching experience.
