A Day in Your Life at MKS: This position will be reporting to the Purchasing Manager Principal Responsibilities: • Plans and implements activities related to the procurement of materials, parts, components, and equipment • Directs the activities of buyers and expediters to accomplish company objectives • Reviews and approves purchases up to a specified dollar amount • May negotiate major contracts involving large dollar amounts • Develops policies and procedures for the operation of procurement activities • Monitors the cost, schedule and performance aspects of major subcontracts • Coordinates purchasing activities with engineering and manufacturing departments to maintain inventories at planned levels • May assist with the establishment and maintenance of the production control system • Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function Required Skills: • Bachelor’s degree required • CPIM and/or APICS certification required • 3+ years of related experience Physical Demands & Working Conditions: • Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time • Ability to remain in a stationary position for [INSERT]% of the time • Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand • Must be able to exchange accurate information • Operates in a [professional office and/or laboratory/manufacturing] environment • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery • Ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) Globally, our policy is to recruit individuals from wide and diverse backgrounds.
