Inspects and tests fire alarm systems to ensure that they function effectively and meet the National File Protection Association (NFPA) standards. Adjusts or repairs malfunctioning systems. Responsible for the completion of service requests at various locations.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Schedules fire alarm and fire sprinkler system inspections. Perform on-site inspection, testing, troubleshooting, repair and installation of fire suppression systems (e.g. water, clean agents, and chemical). Runs testing and inspection on fire alarm and fire sprinkler systems. Coordinates with the local fire department to avoid response to testing. Completes repairs of the fire alarm system and/or the suppression system. Reports results of testing and inspection in line with the requirements of appropriate authorities. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience EXPERIENCE Five years' experience PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent reaching, gripping and keyboard use/data entry. Frequent use of vision for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more). Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional use of vision to judge distances and spatial relationships and to identify and distinguish colors.
