$47.50 - $71.25 Palliative Care - Full-Time APRN Carolinas Palliative Care & Hospice Group - Main | Inpatient Palliative Care Join Carolinas Palliative Care & Hospice Group as a Palliative Care APP Carolinas Palliative Care & Hospice Group is seeking a full-time Acute Care Nurse Practitioner to join an interdisciplinary inpatient palliative care team. This role offers meaningful, team-oriented work with physicians, APPs, nurses, social workers and chaplain support, plus exposure to a teaching environment that hosts medical students, residents and APP fellows. Position Overview Provide inpatient palliative care as part of a specialized, interdisciplinary team serving patients and families with serious illness needs. Collaborate with physicians, APPs, nurses, social workers and hospital-based chaplain support to deliver compassionate, coordinated care. Contribute to a teaching-oriented environment that supports medical students, residents and APP fellows. Location & Setting Primary Practice Carolinas Palliative Care & Hospice Group - Main Care Setting Inpatient palliative care Employment Status Full-time, 1.0 FTE Schedule & Call Expectations Schedule: Monday through Friday, standard daytime schedule. Office/clinic hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Call: Call rotation every 10 to 12 weeks, approximately 3 to 4 times per year. Backup support: A physician is always available as backup for APP call responsibilities. Nights/weekends: Call rotation applies as noted; no routine procedure coverage is required. Expected volume: Approximately 1,000 visits per year and 3,000 RVUs per year. Scope of Practice / What You’ll Do Provide inpatient palliative care consultation and ongoing support for patients and families. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to support symptom management, goals-of-care discussions and coordinated care planning. Work closely with physician partners, with supervising physician support. Participate in an APP call rotation with physician backup always available. Procedures are not required for this position. Open ICU coverage is not required. Team & Support Structure Immediate Support Team 4 physicians, 3.5 nurse practitioners, 2 social workers and 3 nurses Total Clinician Group 14 physicians, 17 APPs Additional Support Hospital-based chaplain support available Why This Role / Differentiators Interdisciplinary, team-oriented model with MDs, APPs, RNs, social workers and chaplain support. Qualifications
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner training/certification required. North Carolina state licensure required or ability to obtain prior to start. At least 1 year of experience preferred. Palliative care or ICU fellowship experience may be considered. Strong communication skills, clinical judgment and comfort supporting patients and families through complex serious illness care. Compensation Structure Base compensation commensurate with years of experience, starting at $48.80/hour
