The Maricopa County Recorder’s Office (MCRO) is responsible for maintaining the Maricopa County voter registration records and for administering over elections in partnership with the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. Must possess, or have the ability to obtain, a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire Must complete the next scheduled Secretary of State Election Officer Certification Must be eligible to vote in Arizona and pass an applicable background screening Job Contributions Confers with department divisions to determine recruitment needs Promotes the Maricopa County Recorder’s office as an "Employer of Choice" through well-written job announcements and at job fairs, conferences, employer seminars, workshops, community-based events, etc. Hires between 200 - 1000 poll workers for election cycles Assists with onboarding new temporary employees to ensure accurate submission of all paperwork into HR software for hiring Assists with application review and hiring process, including interviews and creating recruitment files for temporary employees Utilizes County HR software programs to generate forms and queries, and prepares and submits requisitions for temporary recruitments Assists the Recruitment Manager in developing, planning, organizing, and implementing a streamlined process for the recruitment of all temporary staff Conducts data collection and surveys for recruitment to support the evaluation of programs and identify improvements Assists with input of poll worker payroll, including training class, set-up, and payment for premium status and/or any miscellaneous expenses Schedules trainings for temporary employees and poll workers each election cycle Prepares complex correspondence to poll workers and temporary employees Maintains the Boardworker System by confirming and updating poll worker records to ensure data is accurate and up to date
Working Conditions
Work is typically performed in an office or administrative environment and is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions. The employee in this position may be required to exert up to 20 pounds occasionally, up to 10 pounds frequently, and negligible amounts constantly. The position requires the employee to walk and/or stand to a significant degree.
