Job Summary

Provides embryology and andrology laboratory services in support of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) and reproductive medicine. Performs a variety of laboratory procedures involving human oocytes, sperm, and embryos, while maintaining a high standard of quality, accuracy, and compliance with laboratory protocols. This is a per diem opportunity primarily intended to provide coverage based on departmental needs. There may be opportunities to work up to 24 hours per week, depending on scheduling and operational needs. The position requires reliable onsite coverage, and candidates who live within a reasonable commuting distance of Boston are preferred. Candidates with professional experience in embryology and/or andrology are encouraged to apply.

Essential Functions

  • Performs Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) procedures, including human oocyte identification, grading, denuding and micromanipulation; assisted hatching; insemination; assessment of fertilization; embryo evaluation; embryo transfer; embryo cryopreservation and thawing; and human oocyte retrieval support.
  • Performs sperm preparation and other laboratory procedures in support of reproductive medicine services.
  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic andrology procedures, including semen analysis and intrauterine insemination (IUI) preparation.
  • Prepares and maintains laboratory media and materials required for laboratory procedures.
  • Completes and maintains accurate, detailed documentation and records for laboratory procedures.
  • Performs routine daily and weekly quality control activities for laboratory equipment.
  • Monitors laboratory inventory and orders, receives, and stocks supplies as needed.
  • Maintains program statistics and assists with laboratory data collection and reporting.
  • Follows established laboratory protocols, quality standards, safety procedures, and regulatory requirements. Required for All Jobs

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Biology, Microbiology, or a related field required.

Experience

in lieu of the required degree is not accepted.

Experience

0–1 year of experience in embryology preferred.

Experience

in an embryology, andrology, reproductive medicine, or related laboratory setting is preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to learn and consistently follow established laboratory protocols and procedures. Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately prioritize and organize tasks. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative laboratory team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to remain focused and composed while managing multiple priorities and time-sensitive laboratory procedures. Demonstrated commitment to ethical, professional, and quality standards in human reproductive medicine.

Pay Range
