Job Summary
The Radiology Assistant supports radiology technologists and radiologists in providing safe, efficient, and patient-centered imaging services. This role assists with patient preparation and positioning, equipment and room setup, image management, patient transport, and maintaining supplies and documentation. The Radiology Assistant plays an important role in creating a safe, comfortable, and welcoming experience for patients throughout their imaging visit. Does this position require Patient Care? Yes
Essential Functions
- Greet and prepare patients for radiology procedures, explain the imaging process, and answer questions within the scope of the role.
- Prepare and organize radiology equipment and exam areas for imaging procedures, including X-ray, CT, MRI, and ultrasound.
- Assist with positioning patients on the imaging table or in the appropriate standing or seated position to support safe and accurate imaging.
- Assist radiology technologists with image processing, including labeling, organizing, and transferring images to the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Transport patients to and from the radiology department while maintaining their safety, privacy, dignity, and comfort.
- Monitor and maintain department supplies, including contrast agents, gowns, and other materials needed for patient care and imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient procedures and related information in accordance with departmental and organizational requirements.
- Support the radiology team with additional clinical and operational tasks as needed.

Licenses and Credentials
None required.
Experience
Previous experience in a hospital, healthcare, or managed care setting preferred. Previous radiology experience preferred. 0–1 year of experience preferred. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Familiarity with medical terminology and basic knowledge of radiology equipment and procedures preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients, families, and members of the radiology team. Strong attention to detail and accuracy, particularly when documenting patient information and following safety procedures. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment while maintaining a strong focus on patient safety and comfort. Ability to assist with lifting, positioning, and transporting patients safely. Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods during procedures and throughout the workday. Schedule Monday–Thursday | 3:00 PM–8:00 PM

Pay Range
