Founding GTM
Job description
About the Role
This is a rare opportunity to be the first GTM hire at a fast-growing, early-stage AI startup reshaping how software companies handle customer support. You'll work directly with the founders to build the go-to-market motion from the ground up — owning everything from outbound and pipeline generation to deals and revenue strategy. If you're excited about AI, thrive in ambiguous environments, and have a proven commercial instinct, this role is for you.
About the Company
We're a seed-to-Series A AI company (backed by Y Combinator and leading early-stage investors) building an intelligent support agent that resolves complex customer tickets end-to-end — not just replies, but takes real action inside a company's tools and systems. Our platform integrates deeply with existing workflows across email, live chat, and Slack, and is trusted by some of the fastest-moving AI-native software companies. We're an 11-person team based in San Francisco, moving fast and winning in a high-growth market.
What You'll Do
- Own and build the GTM function from scratch alongside the founding team.
- Drive pipeline generation through outbound, partnerships, and inbound optimization.
- Run full-cycle sales processes — from first contact through close — targeting fast-growing software and AI-native companies.
- Define and iterate on our ICP, messaging, and sales playbook.
- Work closely with the product team to relay customer and prospect feedback that shapes the roadmap.
- Experiment rapidly across channels and tactics to find repeatable, scalable growth motions.
- Help hire and eventually build out the GTM team as we scale.
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 1–5 years of experience in a GTM, sales, or commercial role — ideally at an early-stage B2B SaaS or AI startup.
- Strong commercial instincts: you know how to find, qualify, and close deals.
- High standards for your own work and a relentless drive to win.
- Comfortable operating with significant autonomy and zero hand-holding.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Genuine excitement about AI and the future of customer experience.
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience at a competitor or adjacent company in the AI support or CX automation space.
- Familiarity with selling to CX, Support, or Product teams at software companies.
- Experience as an early or founding GTM hire at a startup.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $150,000 – $250,000 USD annually (depending on experience)
- Meaningful early-stage equity
- Comprehensive benefits package
