Responsibilities

• Conduct a focused nursing assessment and contribute to the ongoing comprehensive nursing assessment of the patient performed by the registered professional nurse • Collaborate in the development and modification of the registered professional nurse’s or advanced practice registered nurse’s comprehensive nursing plan of care for all types of patients • Implement aspects of the plan of care • Participate in health teaching and counseling to promote, attain, and maintain the optimum health level of patients • Serve as an advocate for the patient by communicating and collaborating with other health service personnel • Participate in the evaluation of patient responses to interventions • Communicate and collaborate with other health professionals • Provide input into the development of policies and procedures to support patient safety • Evaluates patient progress and reports changes to RN, supervisor and/or physician. • Complete, accurate, and timely documentation in patient medical record • Timely completion of required education, competencies, and licensure. Applicable to Perioperative service line LPN’s in OR/Procedure Room • Assists the physician with procedures. • Assists with cleaning, decontaminating, sterilization and storage of equipment and instruments. • Assists in transportation and positioning of patients • Assists in assembling and dismantling of tables and instruments before and after procedure • Prepares patient and room for the planned surgical procedures. • Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedures • Completes skin preparation and draping • Assist Surgeon with gowning and gloving • Assist surgeon by passing instruments and suture • Assists in maintaining correct count of instruments, sutures, and sponges • Applies dressings and bandages as needed • Assists in identifying, collecting, and caring for specimens. • Decontaminates instruments (point of use cleaning), supplies and equipment according to established policies and procedures; handles and stores instruments, equipment and supplies appropriately • Aids in the efficient turnover of the operating room for next cases • Monitors and restocks supplies Compensation (Commensurate with experience): $21.42 To $33.2 To access our
