Project Engineer

Project Engineer We are seeking a Project Engineer, QCS to be based in Hanoi, Vietnam. This position reports to the Engineering Manager, QMS Projects. In this role, you will be responsible for the technical delivery of Quality Control Systems (QCS), working both independently and collaboratively within a team. The role involves primarily office-based work, with assignments in paper mill environments as required. Key
Responsibilities
Participates in the planning of the project with the project manager with respect to the goals of the project, overall scheduling, risk analysis/contingency plan, and installation checklists. Participates in the Definition phase of the project (Internal/external kick-off meetings, responsibilities, system definition, customer communication, freezing dates) Takes the lead role in system initialization and configuration by internal and external resources. Organizes and runs the internal testing and customer Factory Acceptance Testing Takes lead role in managing site work: Responsible for site safety Coordinates work schedules for on-site personnel Handles customer communication including safety, progress reports , and site schedules Handles change requests together with the project manager Ensures that the delivery meets the customer’s expectations, including: Commissioning of sensors and measurements ii. Successful implementation of all delivered quality controls iii. Customer training iv. Successful completion of performance guarantees Manages the punch list for timely completion Finalize system documentation and arrange for preparation of commissioning reports, including value/ROI delivered Provides feedback of customer’s comments for customer satisfaction assessment Participates in transfer to service
Qualifications

Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or Electrical Engineering Additional qualifications in Paper Technology or relevant experience in a paper mill are highly preferred 2–3 years of experience in project engineering and execution (including logic development) Strong knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Quality Control Systems (QCS) Hands-on experience in pulp and paper processes, plant operations, and maintenance, including installation, commissioning, FAT, control tuning, and system optimization Familiarity with cross-directional and machine-directional control techniques Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); experience with BricsCAD is a plus Strong English communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural environment Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required depending on the project Valid driving license (car ownership is an advantage) Ability to read technical drawings is preferred Candidates must not require a work permit to work in Vietnam.
