Description of Work This position performs professional operating and cost accounting work, applying established accounting theory and practices to accurately record, classify, examine, and analyze financial transaction data. The role is responsible for maintaining and overseeing financial records, managing grants and contracts, monitoring payroll activities, processing financial transactions, and preparing detailed financial reports to support organizational decision‑making. • Maintain, reconcile, and monitor complex financial data and accounting records • Prepare, analyze, and distribute monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports • Process a variety of financial transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with policies • Track, manage, and report on grants, contracts, and related expenditures • Oversee payroll‑related financial activity, including auditing and reconciliation • Review and analyze financial documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance • Provide technical guidance on accounting procedures and financial best practices • Support audits and internal reviews by preparing schedules, reports, and documentation Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences Salary Range: $50,088 - $87,654 NC 13 Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement. Experience
in SAP Payroll module and its functionality, Employee Self Service, and system reporting tools such as queries and online reports. ·
Experience
interpreting and analyzing salary overpayment data in DAC Accounting System (ACT) and explaining and applying the provision of standard accounting practices. ·
Experience
combining multiple data sources such as online transactions, reports, queries to find the root cause of salary overpayments and make appropriate resolutions. ·
Experience
maintaining effective working relationships with representatives of related contact agencies, departmental staff, team members, and the public. ·
