GTM Engineer
Job description
About the Role
We're an early-stage open-source MLOps infrastructure company building the unified orchestration layer for ML pipelines and AI agent workflows. We're hiring a GTM Engineer to own our entire US presence and community from the ground up — based on-site in San Francisco.
This is a one-person outpost role with direct access to founding leadership. You'll build our name in the SF AI-infrastructure scene through events, community building, and authentic technical evangelism. The mission is presence: you'll be the connector, the voice, and the person who turns conversations into a traceable, measurable pipeline.
No visa sponsorship is available for this role.
What You'll Do
- Own and run the SF developer community from zero — hosting a recurring meetup series that becomes a must-attend event for the ML-infrastructure crowd.
- Work the AI-infra meetups, hackathons, and conferences that matter; build a visible personal brand and network across the Bay Area.
- Be the connector — the person who knows everyone, introduces them to each other, and turns relationships into community momentum.
- Evangelize credibly through talks, blog posts, social content, and short demo videos rooted in real community insights.
- Demo the product live in front of technical audiences, answer real questions, and hold your own with ML engineers.
- Instrument community and product signals (e.g. Mixpanel, GitHub, CRM, Clay) into automated enrichment, scoring, and follow-up flows — so every conversation becomes a traceable pipeline, not just a business card.
- Serve as the eyes and ears in the Valley: report back to product and GTM on what people are building, what frustrates them, and who's evaluating what.
What We're Looking For
Required
- 1–3+ years in DevRel, community building, growth, or developer-facing GTM — you've run this motion before and know what works.
- Demonstrated experience hosting technical events and converting attendee engagement into measurable business outcomes.
- Technical enough to demo a Python framework live, read code, work with APIs, and communicate credibly with ML engineers — you don't need to be a full-time engineer, but you need real technical fluency.
- Experience building and scaling developer communities or technical event programs from zero.
- Proficiency with modern GTM stack tools: CRM platforms, data enrichment tools (Clay or similar), API integrations, and basic automation workflows.
- Experience measuring community and event initiatives using product analytics (Mixpanel or similar), GitHub signals, and CRM data.
- Demonstrated ability to create and distribute technical content (blog posts, demo videos, social media) that resonates with developer audiences.
- Track record of converting manual community activities into repeatable, scalable, measurable systems.
- Experience working in early-stage or scrappy startup environments.
- Self-directed and comfortable running a solo market presence with light remote oversight.
- Based in San Francisco or committed to relocating — this role is fully on-site.
Nice to Have
- Existing professional network within the SF AI, ML infrastructure, or MLOps community.
- Prior experience with open-source communities and GitHub-native developer behaviors.
- Familiarity with the MLOps, LLMOps, or AI agent infrastructure landscape.
- Experience running product-led growth (PLG) or usage-based GTM motions.
- Visible personal brand — public speaking, conference talks, or recognized community presence.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $120,000 – $250,000 USD annually, depending on experience.
- Direct access to founders and a high-impact, high-autonomy role at an early stage.
- Opportunity to define and own the US market presence from the ground up.
