Senior Engineer, Site Reliability Engineering

About the Role We are looking for a Senior Application Engineer to join our Regulatory Reporting & Data Platforms team. This role sits at the intersection of application engineering, data warehousing, cloud technologies, and operational excellence. You will play a key role in supporting and evolving platforms that deliver critical regulatory, financial, and member reporting services across global markets. Our systems process large volumes of trade, collateral, position, and financial data that support regulatory obligations and business operations across multiple jurisdictions. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving complex data and application challenges, working with modern cloud and data technologies, and contributing to highly visible business-critical platforms. You'll work closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, software developers, infrastructure teams, and product partners while helping drive platform modernization, automation, reliability, and continuous improvement. What You'll Be Working On Our team supports: Regulatory Reporting Platforms Solutions that provide reporting to global regulators, including: EMIR / UnaVista SFTR CFTC DTCC CME Bank of England HKTR JFSA Canadian Regulators (OSC/AMF) RBA Additional global regulatory reporting frameworks Member Reporting Services Banking and collateral reporting Business Objects reporting platforms Report generation and distribution services Operational and management reporting solutions Global Fees Platforms Fee calculation and processing Invoicing and reconciliations Financial reporting and downstream integrations What You'll Do Own and Support Critical Services Support and maintain business-critical applications across Production, UAT, and Pre-Production environments. Monitor platform health, data pipelines, applications, and reporting services. Solve incidents and perform root cause analysis. Drive sustainable solutions that improve reliability and reduce operational risk. Collaborate with global teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Build and Improve Data Solutions Support enterprise data warehouse and reporting platforms. Analyze and optimize complex SQL queries and data processes. Investigate data quality, reconciliation, and reporting issues. Contribute to scalable and efficient ETL/ELT solutions. Help improve data governance, observability, and lineage capabilities. Develop and enhance data visualization solutions that deliver actionable insights to business and technology stakeholders. Support operational reporting, service monitoring, and KPI/KRI dashboards. Deliver Engineering Improvements Design and implement enhancements and defect fixes. Automate manual processes and operational workflows. Improve platform performance, scalability, and resilience. Contribute to modernization initiatives and cloud adoption programs. Drive Operational Excellence Participate in incident, problem, and organizational change processes. Support production releases and deployments. Improve monitoring, alerting, and observability capabilities. Share knowledge and contribute to team documentation and engineering standards. Partner Across the Organization Work closely with business, product, development, data, and infrastructure teams. Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members. Act as a trusted technical partner during investigations, projects, and system enhancements. What We're Looking For We're interested in engineers who are curious, collaborative, and passionate about building reliable data-driven solutions. You may be a good fit if you bring experience in several of the following areas: Data Warehousing & Databases Strong SQL development and data analysis skills Data warehouse design and support Snowflake Data modelling and data integration concepts Query tuning and performance optimization Data reconciliation and root cause analysis Data Engineering & Integration ETL/ELT pipelines DBT Apache Airflow or Managed Workflows for Apache Airflow (MWAA) Data transformation and orchestration frameworks Programming & Automation Python Shell scripting (Unix/Linux) PowerShell Process automation and operational tooling Cloud & Platform Technologies Experience with one or more cloud platforms: AWS EC2 S3 Lambda RDS API Gateway VPC or Microsoft Azure equivalents Monitoring & Reliability Datadog Application monitoring and alerting platforms Operational dashboards and observability tooling Performance and capacity analysis DevOps & Engineering Practices GitLab CI/CD pipelines Infrastructure as Code Terraform Agile delivery practices Release and deployment automation Data Visualization & Analytics Experience developing interactive dashboards and data visualizations with Power BI Ability to translate complex business and operational data into meaningful insights. Knowledge of reporting, analytics, and visualization standard methodologies. Familiarity with self-service analytics and business intelligence platforms.
