Inventory Control Lead - Taiwan

ALSO Taiwan, Taichung, Taiwan
Hybrid Full Time

Job description

About ALSO.

We’re ALSO, an electric mobility company originally conceived as a part of Rivian. We’re a passionate team of builders, dreamers, doers and innovators, focused on creating entirely new (not to mention, innovative and delightful) vertically integrated, small EVs designed to meet the global mobility challenges of today and tomorrow. Our mission is to inspire everyone to ride ALSO—replacing many local car, truck and SUV miles with ones on vehicles that are more affordable, more enjoyable and 10-50x more efficient.

ALSO is seeking a detail-oriented Inventory Control Lead to own inventory accuracy and control at our outsourced contract manufacturers located in Taiwan. This role is critical to ensuring inventory movements - from component receipt through production consumption to finished goods - are accurately tracked, reconciled, and controlled. The ideal candidate will work closely with the CM's warehouse and production teams to enforce inventory discipline, resolve discrepancies, and maintain reliable inventory data that supports production planning, finance, and supply chain decision-making.

What You Will Do

  • Own day-to-day oversight of inventory transactions at the CMs, including goods receipt, production output/consumption, and scrap/rework reporting.
  • Ensure all inventory movements are recorded accurately and timely in the relevant ERP/WMS systems.
  • Track component receipt-to-consumption flow to ensure inventory records match physical usage, identifying and resolving variances.
  • Periodically reconcile inventory balances between NetSuite (ERP) and onhand balances at CMs.
  • Monitor and audit the CMs adherence to FIFO methodology to ensure components are pulled and consumed in the correct order.
  • Partner closely with CMs to evaluate how their WMS can be leveraged to maintain accurate, real-time inventory balances; help define and establish the right process/system integration between ALSO’s systems and the CMs’ WMS.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records and generate regular reporting on inventory accuracy, discrepancy trends, and aging/obsolescence.
  • Partner with the OSM, purchasing, planning, and finance teams to identify root causes of recurring discrepancies and implement process improvements.
  • Lead and perform periodic cycle counts and physical inventory counts to ensure accuracy of on-hand inventory levels.
  • Support Inventory Accounting Team in other ad-hoc requests as needed.

What You Will Bring

  • This role is based in Taiwan, with a majority of working time spent on-site at the CMs facility to directly oversee inventory operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in inventory accounting, materials management, or supply chain coordination - experience with outsourced/contract manufacturing strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of inventory control principles (FIFO, cycle count, physical inventory counts, and account reconciliations)
  • Experience with NetSuite ERP preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills; able to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally with an overseas manufacturing partner.
  • Comfortable working across time zones; this role is based in Taiwan but reports to the Accounting team in the US, requiring flexibility for overlapping meeting hours and cross-time-zone communication.
  • Fluent in both Taiwanese and English.
