Job description
The Multimedia Journalist Reporter produces, reports, shoots, writes, voices, edits and feeds news production content for all platforms in a manner that is clear, engaging and meaningful to news consumers. KSNT-TV/KTMJ-TV is looking for a Multimedia Journalist to produce daily news content across all broadcast and digital platforms that is clear, engaging, and meaningful to local audiences *Must include a link to online reel when applying in order to be considered.
Responsibilities
Report, shoot, write, and edit compelling news stories for television, digital, streaming, social, and mobile platforms. Pitch new stories daily, demonstrating solid news judgment and the ability to identify and develop stories that matter to local audiences. Collaborate with other newsroom staff to develop impactful coverage plans. Build and maintain relationships with sources, public officials, and community members. Research and analyze background information related to news stories to provide complete and accurate reports. Review copy and correct errors in content, grammar and punctuation, following prescribed editorial style and formatting guidelines. Ensure all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality. Report live from the field, oftentimes requiring ad-libbing during breaking news situations. Participate in promotional activities including public appearances and community volunteer opportunities. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
& Skills: Bachelor's degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and work-related experience. Fluency in English.
Experience
using broadcast camera equipment and editing software. Ability to work independently while managing multiple assignments and meeting tight deadlines. Valid driver's license with a good driving record. Flexibility to work any shift. Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
