PRN Urgent Care Team Member Position open to EMT or LPN role We are seeking a flexible and dependable PRN Urgent Care team member to support our Urgent Care locations by covering open shifts, PTO coverage, and sick-call needs as they arise. Schedule & Availability Urgent Care operating hours are: Monday through Friday: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM Saturday and Sunday: 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Position
Responsibilities
Provide coverage for sick calls, PTO requests, and open shifts as staffing needs arise. Maintain flexibility to support operational needs across Urgent Care locations. Respond promptly to scheduling requests and shift opportunities. PRN
Requirements
All PRN staff, regardless of role, are expected to meet the following requirements: A list of available shifts, including open FTE and PTO coverage needs, will be distributed to PRN staff. PRN staff have 24 hours to respond to shift opportunities. Scheduling needs are typically communicated one month in advance, with additional requests shared as needs develop. Minimum Commitment Work a minimum of 3 shifts per month and/or 24 hours per month. Fulfill the following monthly scheduling expectations: 1 PM shift 1 weekend shift 1 additional shift (anytime) If no weekend shifts are available during a given month, the weekend requirement will be substituted with a PM or anytime shift. To maintain PRN status, staff must be willing to pick up and work AM, PM, and weekend openings as they become available. Ideal Candidate Flexible and adaptable with varying schedules. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Receives patient care assignment from the registered nurse (RN) in charge. Initiates delegated tasks based on demonstrated competence in performing nursing activities for specific patient age group served. Collects and documents data for reassessment at specific times for patient population. Documents and provides appropriate data to the Physician, RN and/or LPN for analysis and validation of patient’s response to care or treatment and when significant change occurs in the patient’s condition. As appropriate to the environment working in, demonstrates knowledge of appropriate lead placement for routine cardiac monitoring and 12 lead EKG. Performs 12 lead EKG on patient according to policy and procedures. May assist physician and nursing staff with medical procedures. Stocks and maintains supplies and equipment in keeping with patient care needs and cost containment. Turns over rooms after each patient use: Cleans carrier, changes sheets, restocks supplies, disposes of trash, ensures equipment returns to its proper place, and takes care of instrument trays according to the current procedure. Assists with delegated clerical duties such as answering telephones, relaying messages transcription of physician orders, preparing and organizing the patient’s medical record. Prepares patients for discharge or completion of patient visit and accompanies them upon dismissal as indicated. Transports patients to a receiving department or facility if indicated. Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner. Performs other duties as assigned. EDUCATION High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience EXPERIENCE No experience required PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Constant use of speech to share information through oral communication. Constant standing and walking. Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs. Frequent sitting, reaching and keyboard use/data entry. Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors. Frequent use of smell to detect/recognize odors. Frequent use of hearing to receive oral communication, distinguish body sounds and/or hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc. Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs. Occasional lifting/moving of patients. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements. Occasional driving.
