Loraas has an immediate opening for a Temporary Dispatcher (18-Month Contract) in Saskatoon, SK. Rate: Hourly: $22.00 - $24.00 Shift: Monday to Friday - Day Shift - Once a month, this position is required to work Tuesday to Saturday Duties: Provide professional customer support by addressing questions, problems, and specific requests for service; clarify customer location, service type & instructions. Analyze, route & relay incoming calls and service locations to drivers using the two-way radio or telephone. Effectively communicate all pertinent information to the customers and drivers. Maximize the volumes of work completed for all systems including seasonal & weather-related adjustments. Optimize use of fleet resources by directly communicating with other dispatch planners and operations supervisors. Identify and evaluate any special needs for each load (burial, asbestos, etc.). Prepare accurate routing schedules, assign drivers and trucks, and schedule call ins. Responsible for completing all paperwork for 1 Ton, Roll-Off, Front End and Residential trucks. Timely update of software information, notes, issues, and routes. Cross system training & coverage for breaks, illness, training, and holidays. What We Need From You: Excellent customer services skills conveyed with a positive attitude. Excellent planning and prioritizing skills. Ability to multi-task with a strong attention to detail. Strong, timely and appropriate decision-making skills. Strong knowledge of Saskatoon and surrounding area. Proficient knowledge of routing software and Microsoft Office. Knowledge of trucking regulations and legislation. Assertive verbal communication skills. Team player with confidence to work independently. Experience in dispatch or transportation industry seen as asset. Required to be fluent in English, oral and written. A criminal record check will be required. What You’ll Get From Us?
