The qualified candidate will become part of Northrop Grumman’s Tactical Space System Division. The Mechanical Engineer will work with Mechanical Ground Support Equipment (MGSE) engineering leads and Integration and Test managers across Gilbert product lines to drive design, analysis, integration and delivery of MGSE to support Satellite Manufacturing Facility operations. 1st shift - 7:00am - 4:00pm (flexible)

Job Responsibilities

The candidate will perform detailed design tasks using Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other software tools to develop and document ground support equipment designs. The role involves interfacing and communicating with customers, program and functional management, other spacecraft engineering disciplines, and component suppliers. Skills include, but not limited to, Computer Aided Design (CAD), knowledge and application of Geometric Dimension and Tolerancing (GD&T), 3D Printing, Design for Manufacturing, Mechanics of Metallic / Composite Materials, Stress Calculations, and Spacecraft Component Layout. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
