Here’s a sneak peak of what our colleagues say about working within ING Hubs Romania: At ING, we're building the solutions of tomorrow, today | 80% of our colleagues in Romania agree The Mission As a Solution Architect in Financial Market’s IPA Pricing Engines & Post-processing area, you enhance the design and implementation quality of our main pricing and valuation engines that we are using. You do this by optimizing technology infrastructure, operational efficiency, scalability and reliability but also having a trained eye on the security aspects. Your role is crucial in ensuring seamless alignment between design, implementation, business objectives, and architectural principles. Your day to day As a Solution Architect you will be part of the Wholesale Baking Centre of Excellence (COE) Architecture. You translate business vision and enterprise architecture into effective solution designs by acting as a strong partner to the engineering and product teams in Financial Market & Group Treasury Pricing area. You execute the global Business & IT Roadmap process, with centralized designs and (logical) global decompositions, analyses market- and IT-trends and, based on this information, contributing to the strategy of the organization. Responsibilities
Act as the liaison between Domain Architects and DevOps teams. Understand business context, needs, rules, architecture, organizational structure, culture, capabilities, and processes. Document "as-is" and "to-be" processes and designs, outlining necessary changes for migration (e.g., roadmaps, migration plans). Organize and support DevOps and Quants team workshops and presentations to facilitate design and decision-making (e.g., Architecture Content Meetings, Architecture Review Meetings). Design and develop POC’s which are used to confirm assumptions and are easily transferable into MVP’s by the engineering teams Coaching engineers on ING standards and working with them to validate new architectural decisions Apply architecture patterns, including Request/Reply, Event-driven architecture (e.g., Kafka), Microservices, and Resilience patterns (e.g., retry strategies). Stay up to date with architecture trends, particularly in the low latency space, well-architected framework and cloud native applications Identify and escalate instances of non-compliance with organizational policies, procedures, or regulatory requirements. Ensure alignment between code development and architecture/design guidelines, guiding developers and escalating compliance issues when necessary. What you’ll bring to the team At least seven years of experience as an engineer or architect.
Experience
working in highly regulated environments (e.g., financial institutions). Understanding of Financial Markets, pricing, valuation, risk management and the role of pricing engines in front office and risk processes. Knowledge of Java and C++ are a must for this role as we are building the next-gen architecture for ING’s pricing engines
Experience
in developing trading/e-trading applications and taking into consideration low-latency requirements Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical topics to diverse audiences. Strong ability to build collaborative partnerships with organizational leaders. A continuous improvement mindset—constantly enhancing your skills while mentoring and training others. Previous experience in roles such as back-end or quantitative analysis engineer In-depth knowledge of IT architecture methodologies (e.g., TOGAF), service management processes, and agile work environments. Archimate or other Architecture modelling language are considered a plus.
