Job description
The Bosun reports to the Marine Section Leader (MSL) and is responsible for general deck maintenance, maintenance of all life-saving, firefighting, and hullside deck machinery, and assisting the MSL as required. Responsibilities/
Duties
Conduct all duties as required by the company management system, bridging documents, emergency response plans, and regulatory requirements as applicable to the MODU’s area of operation. Responsible for maintaining all mandatory certification for the role held, according to the company training matrix and training management system. Respond to an emergency as defined by the MODU’s station bill. Any ancillary duties assigned by Supervisor, Section Lead, or OIM. Supervise all AB Roustabout personnel. Maintain MODU hull side equipment including coating / paint fabric maintenance. Perform assigned lookout / watch duties during rig moves. Conduct maintenance on ballast, bulk, and other deck systems under MSL's direction. Support MSL with maintenance and control of lifting equipment. Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs, and in pre-tour and weekly safety meetings. Perform other duties as directed.
Requirements
– Required High School Diploma or equivalent Minimum age: 18 years Valid STCW II/5 Able Seafarer (Deck) certification Completion of all training requirements as per matrix Minimum 2 years experience in offshore deck operations Familiarity with marine safety protocols and deck equipment
Requirements
– Preferred Additional supervisory or leadership training
Experience
with company operational systems and documentation tools TWIC card and passport (US only)
