Duties

* This job posting will select either a Certified Social Worker or Master Social Worker* The Licensed Social Worker in the Behavioral Health Service Line’s adult inpatient units functions in the role of assisting the patient, family, and interdisciplinary team throughout the care episode. Primary duties, in addition to any discharge planning activities, include individual, group, and family therapy to the adult population, communicating with the patients, and assisting in the development of a specific treatment plan that reflects the therapeutic intervention to address the patient’s needs. The Behavioral Health Service Line inpatient units are located in the Psychiatric Research Institute building on the main UAMS campus.

Qualifications

Master's Degree in Social Work Must be licensed by a professional board - Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) or Licensed Certified Social Worker (LCSW) Ability to use Microsoft Office programs - Word, Excel, Outlook

Experience

Responsibilities

Provide therapeutic interventions through group therapy related to identified patient needs. Provide psychosocial services to include initial assessment upon admission; patient and family education, advocacy, counseling, and interventions with individuals, families, and groups for purposes of assessment and enhancement of problem-solving and coping capacities. Discharge planning and aftercare coordination through community referrals and safety planning Participate in treatment meetings for the adult units and complex case review meetings as requested and other collaboration in order to develop, plan, and manage the treatment of patients from admission through discharge. Attend team meetings and participate in quality improvement projects. Provide accurate and timely documentation of all interactions related to the treatment of the patient. Serve as a consultant for processing guardianship, power of attorney, health care proxy, and advance directives in conformance with UAMS policy May perform other duties as assigned.
