Summary Job Description: Transporter PRN The Transport team is responsible for the transport of Baptist Health patients to radiology departments and upon discharge from the hospital. Transporters assist patient care units with maximum assistance transfers with appropriate utilization of mechanical lifts. Miscellaneous equipment such as beds, pumps, and recliners will also be delivered throughout the hospital by the Transport team upon request. A hospital transporter is responsible for the safe and efficient movement of patients, equipment, and supplies within the hospital. Key duties include transporting patients to various departments, assisting with patient transfers, and ensuring timely delivery of medical equipment and supplies. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow safety protocols. The transporter must be compassionate, patient, and capable of handling physically demanding tasks, contributing to the overall efficiency and smooth operation of the hospital. Job Description: Transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, and Vess chair to and from clinical areas as requested through the Patient Tracking system to the designated area. Transports to morgue and documents on log. Functions independently through the use of Patient Tracking in EPIC. Reports changes in patient condition to nurse or radiology technician. Explain lift / transfer to patient. Use of EPIC system to show progress of assigned job.
