Must have skills : Downstream Manufacturing Good to have skills : NA Minimum 5 year(s) of experience is required Educational Qualification : 15 years full time education Summary: Minimum 8-10 year(s) of experience is required As a Rockwell Automation Applications Support Engineer, a typical day involves supporting, stabilizing, and continuously improving Rockwell Automation engineering applications and industrial software used for PLC programming, HMI/SCADA development, asset management, and manufacturing operations. The role requires working in an AMS / production support environment, collaborating with operations, IT, engineering, and cross-functional teams to resolve incidents, support software lifecycle management, perform application upgrades, and ensure reliable service delivery. The candidate will leverage technical expertise in Rockwell Automation software products, troubleshooting skills, and support governance practices to maintain application availability, ensure SLA adherence, and drive continuous service improvement. Lead AMS support for Rockwell Automation engineering applications, including Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk Suite, Connected Components Workbench (CCW), FactoryTalk AssetCentre, and related software used across manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
Expected to perform independently and become an SME. Required active participation/contribution in team discussions. Contribute in providing solutions to work-related problems. Handle L2/L3 support for Rockwell Automation engineering applications and software-related issues. Support installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Studio 5000, RSLogix 5000, RSLogix 500, FactoryTalk Suite, Connected Components Workbench (CCW), and FactoryTalk View applications. Perform root cause analysis for application-related incidents and implement permanent fixes. Support FactoryTalk AssetCentre for PLC and HMI backup, configuration management, and version control. Manage software upgrades, patching, version compatibility, and multi-version environments across manufacturing sites. Support FactoryTalk View Studio development and FTView ME Transfer activities for HMI deployments. Coordinate with automation engineers, OEMs, infrastructure teams, and plant operations for issue resolution and application support. Manage change requests, software deployments, license management, and application lifecycle activities. Monitor application performance and recommend improvements for stability, standardization, and operational efficiency. Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on Rockwell Automation software applications. Professional & Technical Skills: Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Rockwell Automation engineering software and application support. Strong experience with Studio 5000 and Studio 5000 Multi-Version environments.
Experience
supporting RSLogix 5000 and RSLogix 500 applications. Hands-on knowledge of Connected Components Workbench (CCW) for Micro800 PLCs, PowerFlex drives, and PanelView 800 HMIs.
Experience
with FactoryTalk Suite including FactoryTalk View Studio, FactoryTalk View ME Transfer, and FactoryTalk AssetCentre. Knowledge of Allen-Bradley PLC programming environments and engineering software.
Experience
in software installation, upgrades, patch management, licensing, and version compatibility. Incident, problem, and change management experience in AMS/Production Support environments. Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills for industrial engineering applications. Ability to work in a 24x7 AMS support model. Good communication and stakeholder management skills with cross-functional teams.
Experience
handling critical production support incidents and ensuring SLA compliance. Good To Have Skills: Knowledge of Industrial Automation, PLC programming concepts, HMI/SCADA systems, Asset Management, Industrial Networks, FactoryTalk Historian, OT Cybersecurity basics, software packaging, and application virtualization. Additional Information: The candidate should have relevant experience supporting Rockwell Automation engineering applications, including Studio 5000, RSLogix, FactoryTalk Suite, Connected Components Workbench (CCW), and FactoryTalk AssetCentre in AMS / production support environments.
Experience
in manufacturing, industrial automation, OT environments, PLC engineering software, HMI/SCADA applications, software deployment, and industrial application lifecycle management is preferred.
