Successful candidates will be expected to follow the team's hybrid work model. Provides advice and expertise on effective ways to manage/minimize financial crimes/criminal risk and to apply and operationalize related policies and standards to an assigned business/group. Support business initiatives/programs in the development and implementation of (but not limited to) products and services, systems, processes and tools, etc. to minimize the potential impact of criminal risk. Acts as a trusted advisor to assigned business/group. Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives. Understands business/group regulatory and compliance requirements provides recommendations, and implements actions to ensure adherence as required. Leads projects from a financial crimes /criminal risk view point. Assists in the development of strategic plans. Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making. Ensures alignment between stakeholders. Breaks down strategic problems, and analyses data and information to provide insights and recommendations. Gathers and formats data into regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards. Monitors and tracks performance, and addresses any issues. Designs and produces regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards. Builds change management plans of varying scope and type; leads or participates in a variety of change management activities including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives. Leads or participates in defining the communication plan designed to positively influence or change behaviour; develops tailored messaging; and identifies appropriate distribution channels. Provides input and recommendations for continuous improvement of the group's business processes, procedures and tools. Keeps abreast of changes in criminal trends, legislative and regulatory matters for all jurisdictions that business/group conducts business in. Evaluates the impact of industry best practices and emerging trends and makes recommendations related to the business/group environment as appropriate. Identifies business needs, designs/develops tools and training programs; may include delivery of training to audiences. Provides subject matter expertise on financial crimes/criminal risk management and related business issues including business protocol, processes, policy, key risk areas and controls, operational loss experience and business strategies. Builds effective relationships with internal/external stakeholders. Analyses data and information, conducts assessments and breaks down strategic problems to provide insights and recommendations. Conducts research to identify, assess and recommend viable, practical solutions to specific financial crimes /criminal risk exposures. Prepares root cause/control gap analysis, collaborates on issue prioritization and process changes, assist in the development of action plans and seeing those plans through to closure. Collaborates in development of business case by identifying needs, analyzing potential options and assessing expected return on investment. Identifies financial crimes /criminal risk management issues, risks and potential opportunities and ensures they are captured for consideration in processes, policies, standards, strategies, etc. as appropriate. Promotes acceptance and implementation of new or revised processes, policies and/or standards and both manages and overcomes resistance to change. Educates business/group on all aspects of financial crimes /criminal risk management including relevant policies, appropriate procedures and practices, legislation and regulations and related training and learning opportunities. Collaborates in the development and delivery of financial crimes /criminal risk management training and awareness programs. Keeps apprised of industry best practices, emerging trends, development opportunities, new approaches to risk and loss mitigation, emerging technology etc. Focus is primarily on business/group within BMO; may have broader, enterprise-wide focus. Provides specialized consulting, analytical and technical support. Exercises judgment to identify, diagnose, and solve problems within given rules. Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications
Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Proficiency in both French and English is required to effectively collaborate with colleagues across Canada and support business operations conducted in both languages.
Experience
with TSYS payment processing solutions is considered a strong asset. Knowledge of the business/group processes/procedures – Expert. Knowledge of financial crimes/criminal risk management practices – In-depth. PC skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – Expert. Project management/program management skills – In-depth. Knowledge of applicable risk and regulatory requirements and the impact on the business/group – In-depth. You’re fluent in French and English as this role provides support to clients and team members inside and/or outside the province of Quebec. Salary: $69,000.00 - $129,000.00 Pay Type: Salaried The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position. BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
