The Role As a Lead Software Engineer, you will guide and participate in the end-to-end delivery and support of technology solutions and products that enable complex investment capabilities. You will provide technical leadership, drive engineering excellence and continuous improvement, and coach colleagues while partnering across Technology & Data and the business to deliver responsive, high-quality solutions. The Team Alternative Investments Technology partners with investment teams to deliver and support technology solutions that enable CPP Investments’ investment activities. Within this group, the Credit Investments technology team supports Credit Investments, which oversees CPP Investments’ global credit portfolio and provides a range of debt-financing solutions across the capital structure. Accountabilities Design, build, test and support technology solutions end-to-end to enable complex business capabilities in an Agile environment Provide technical leadership and coaching, driving engineering excellence and continuous improvement within the team and influencing practices across Technology & Data Apply an advanced understanding of the technology landscape and the business capabilities it supports to guide technical decisions and colleagues Foster agility and innovation through experimentation, early feedback and responsiveness to evolving business needs Frame complex problems clearly, engage colleagues in thoughtful problem-solving and build support for well-reasoned recommendations Lead and facilitate root-cause analysis involving multiple teams to resolve complex technology issues Build strong relationships and foster collaboration, feedback, learning and professional growth across business partners, Technology & Data teams and vendor partners What You Bring Undergraduate degree or college diploma in a related field, such as Engineering or Computer Science 6+ years of relevant experience Extensive experience with programming languages such as Python, C++ or Java Strong knowledge of software development practices, including version control, testing methodologies and Agile development Extensive experience developing clean, readable and well-documented code while adhering to established coding standards Demonstrated ability to provide technical leadership, coaching and guidance in a collaborative engineering environment You are motivated to contribute to something larger than yourself, approach complex challenges with rigor, and hold yourself to high standards in a collaborative, performance-driven environment.
