Lead Capacity Engineer

About this role: Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Data Center Capacity Engineer. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and reporting on data center infrastructure capacity across Wells Fargo’s enterprise environments, including data centers, technology rooms, and co-location facilities. You will partner closely with technology stakeholders to ensure infrastructure readiness aligns with strategic business and IT initiatives. You will: Lead and represent the coordination and delivery of infrastructure capacity reporting across data centers and co-location facilities. Collaborate with IT platform owners and product owners to develop accurate and forward-looking data center capacity demand forecasts. Communicate effectively with technology partners, cross-functional teams, and business stakeholders through clear verbal and written communication. Build and maintain strong cross-organizational partnerships, demonstrating integrity, customer focus, and a commitment to operational excellence. Utilize industry-standard tools (Microsoft Office Suite, Visio, PowerPoint) to analyze and present data center capacity insights. Leverage Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) platforms (e.g., Nlyte or similar tools) to monitor and manage capacity. Apply deep knowledge of data center mechanical and electrical systems and their impact on capacity planning. Demonstrate advanced understanding of telecommunications network topologies and their role in infrastructure capacity. Maintain working knowledge of IT hardware platforms (servers, storage, mainframes) and their deployment impacts on capacity and performance. Produce, manage, and deliver regular reporting on data center capacity metrics and trends. Oversee and optimize the operational processes supporting recurring capacity reporting cycles. Required
Qualifications
5+ years of Technology Infrastructure Engineering and Solutions experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education 5+ years of experience building and manipulating complex data sets for visualization. 5+ years of experience planning technology deployments in mission-critical data center environments. 5+ years of experience reporting on data center power distribution capacity. 5+ years of experience evaluating and reporting on mechanical systems capacity within mission-critical environments. 5+ years of experience developing data visualizations using PowerPoint or similar tools. Proven ability to interpret technology strategies and translate them into actionable data center capacity requirements. Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions independently while adhering to governance standards, policies, and asset protection guidelines. Strong understanding of data center design and construction processes, including structured cabling and network infrastructure. Proactive problem solver with a track record of identifying and resolving issues before escalation. Influential communicator who fosters collaboration and drives alignment to achieve accurate forecasting, planning, and reporting outcomes. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to lead by example and drive team efficiency. Skilled in conflict resolution using effective interpersonal and relationship management techniques.
Experience
managing, planning, and tracking engineering work in agile environments. Commitment to continuous improvement, applying iterative (“slight edge”) principles to enhance team performance and deliver innovative solutions. Job Expectations: Conducts in-depth analysis of technology forecasts, actively engaging with product, platform ownership, site engineering, and operations teams to inform strategic decision-making. Provides ongoing strategic guidance to technology platform delivery and engineering teams, with a focus on optimizing data center capacity and capability planning. Demonstrates strong leadership and initiative by proactively identifying risks, driving solution development, and resolving potential issues before they impact operations. Develops and delivers executive-level reporting on capacity utilization and forward-looking forecasts, enabling informed business and infrastructure planning.
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $119,000.00 - $224,000.00
