Job Description UW Libraries has an outstanding opportunity for a Facilities Manager to join their team. About this opportunity The Facilities Manager leads daily operations and maintenance of Libraries spaces across the Seattle campus, ensuring a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for staff, students, and visitors. This position is responsible for managing building access, coordinating maintenance and renovations, supporting events and space usage, and supervising facilities staff. The Facilities Manager serves as the primary operational link between the central Facilities & Events team and site contacts at each UW Libraries location across campus, ensuring consistent standards of care and responsiveness across all sites. UW Libraries Seattle footprint encompasses 11 libraries and offsite storage occupying all or part of 17 buildings and totaling just under 1 million square feet. These spaces house over 7 million pieces of physical material and special collections, support the work of 500 student and full-time staff, and accommodate over 2.5 million visitors per year. Key

with educational or institutional facilities management Understanding of building systems in large, multi-use, or historic structures, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety Demonstrated project management skills, including planning, scoping, and coordinating facilities projects Ability to effectively collaborate with a wide variety of individuals. Familiarity with basic construction practices and methods and experience working in or collaborating with maintenance and building trades Strong written and spoken communication skills Curiosity, creativity, and imagination.
