Ngā kōrero mo tēnei tūranga / About the role As an Audit Associate based in Kirikiriroa / Hamilton, you’ll support audit engagements across a range of clients and industries, helping organisations build trust through quality financial reporting, careful analysis and clear communication. This is a permanent, full-time role with a minimum of 37.5 guaranteed hours per week, generally worked Monday to Friday. Your day-to-day could include: Supporting the planning and delivery of external audit engagements across a range of clients and industries Performing audit testing, financial analysis and risk assessment procedures Reviewing financial information, contracts, invoices and other supporting documentation Preparing clear, accurate and complete audit workpapers in line with professional and regulatory requirements Identifying audit findings and discussing these with engagement team members and client stakeholders Collaborating with colleagues and clients to obtain audit evidence, resolve queries and meet engagement deadlines Applying digital tools, including Microsoft Excel and audit technology, to analyse information and improve audit quality Building trusted working relationships while demonstrating professional judgement, integrity and attention to detail Ngā pūkenga ka kawea mai e koe, ka whakawhanakehia rānei i tēnei tūranga / Skills you will bring or develop in this role At least 12 months of practical audit experience, preferably at a professional services firm A completed tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, commerce or a closely related discipline Understanding of audit procedures, financial statements, supporting evidence and accounting standards. Strong attention to detail, critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Confidence using tools such as Microsoft Excel and accounting systems, with experience in MYOB, Xero, Reckon or similar helpful. Clear communication skills and the ability to work well with clients and team members from different backgrounds. Progress towards, or eligibility and a commitment to work towards, a Chartered Accountant qualification or an equivalent recognised professional accounting qualification If you don’t meet every requirement, we still want to hear from you - your skills and potential may be a great fit.
