Job Description Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for the strategic and tactical management required to operate the plant in a safe, efficient, and reliable manner. The Operations Manager will serve as a vital member of the site leadership team, collaborating closely with Maintenance and Site Management to oversee and lead all on-site operations Job Description Key Responsibilities Provides overall management required to operate all site equipment and system utilizing GE Vernova or Customer’s Facility Work Force. Develops and implements operational strategy consistent with achieving maximum plant efficiency to meet customer requirements in the most safe, reliable, economical and environmentally safe manner, Ensures the development and recording of applicable plant operations and maintenance data, Ensures the performance and recording of periodic operational checks and tests of the plant equipment in accordance with Customer’s requirements, equipment manufacturers’ recommendations, applicable laws and Contractor’s recommendations. Ensures compliance with requirements for environmental, health and safety requirements in plant operations Establishes and maintains sampling programs to ensure that the chemistry specifications for site equipment and systems are maintained for the required operating, shutdown, or lay-up condition. Manages implementation of Log-Out/Tag Out (LOTO) System in accordance with the Contractor’s policies and procedures with the assistance of the Customer. Manages development and implementation of operating procedures for major systems using Facility designer’s operation manuals/procedures and equipment Vendors' instructions utilizing the GE Vernova or Customer’s Facility Work Force. Recommends Facility modifications and upgrades to the Customer to enhance plant reliability and performance. Co-ordinates with GE Vernova O&M Support team, GE Vernova Engineering and other support function team for the resolution of complex issues relevant to operations. Drives optimization of plant operating strategies with the aim of achieving lower cost operation and/or increased efficiency and output. Manages preparation of plant operating logs covering critical plant operating parameters and ensures necessary review and analysis to proactively identify potential problems. Prepares and submits operations activities reports as per requirements of the contract. Participates and supports plant root cause analysis for the technical events. Assists the training and qualification of Customer’s operations team as per guidelines of the contract. Establishes sampling/testing programs and ensures review/analysis of plant chemical reports for maintaining proper chemistry in the plant processes and systems. Makes recommendations to the Customer to maintain optimum stock of chemicals and operational consumables. Provides coverage for Plant Manager, Deputy Plant Manager or Maintenance Manager as applicable. Required Qualifications Graduate Engineer in Mechanical, Electrical or Controls from an accredited College or University. Minimum 10 years of gas turbine combined cycle power plant O&M experience with minimum five years in management position in gas turbine combined cycle power plant operations. Minimum 5 years of O&M experience at GE Vernova F Class Gas Turbines is a must Desired Characteristics Strong project management, problem solving and organizational skills Strong business and financial skills Prior experience with GE Vernova O&M in same capacity is preferred Knowledge of GE Vernova products, services, and processes (GE employees only) Prior customer interface experience Strong oral and written communication skills Strong interpersonal and leadership skills Proficiency with computer tools Ability and willingness to travel as required Additional Information Relocation Assistance Provided: Yes Addressing the climate crisis is an urgent global priority and we take our responsibility seriously.
