Duties
The Coordinator of Health Learning Resource Center (HLRC) has responsibility for all activities, equipment, and resources associated with the HLRC. This includes oversight of the day-to-day operation of simulation activities in the high-fidelity simulation lab as well as in the skills labs. The coordinator also oversees all operation, care, inventory, maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs and of simulation equipment, lab equipment, supplies, models, media and low/high fidelity manikins. This is a 12 month position. The position reports to the Dean of the College of Health, Education, and Human Sciences.

(9%) Set up and operate simulation equipment with the ability to manipulate physiologic data, follow medical aspects of scenarios, interpret participant’s responses and make appropriate adjustments based on participant’s actions along with audio-video recording, task trainer, and other supplies for simulation exercises to meet training objectives. (9%) Coordinating all aspects of human and non-human simulation activities including but not limited to the following; integrating, maintaining, operating computer and audiovisual technology, performing pre and post simulation activities, executing simulation sessions equipment (patient simulators, task trainers, hospital equipment, supplies, audiovisual equipment, pyxis) and applying moulage as needed. (7%) Contribute to the design, development, testing, and implementation of training materials and scenarios. (4%) Conduct a scenario pre-brief and assist the instructor with after action report (debrief) if needed. (5%) Maintains and updates memorandums of agreements and affiliation agreements with healthcare facilities. (5%) Oversees all operation, care, inventory, maintenance, troubleshooting, minor repairs and of simulation equipment as required along with lab equipment, supplies, models, media and low/high fidelity manikins. (3%) Prepare recommendation for approval of purchasing requisitions of supplies, materials and lab equipment. (13%) Provide remediation of students as requested by faculty on performance-based skills throughout all levels (15%) Set up and prepare equipment for instructional use in skills lab and health assessment lab to meet faculty teaching objectives. (4%) Coordinates student scheduling of campus labs, practices sessions and/or video recording for clinical competency performance examination (CPE). (3%) Orients faculty and students to the use of high-fidelity patient simulators. (2%) Coordinate and provide student logistics, and administration support needs. (4%) Facilitate simulation training and provide feedback to the Lead Faculty and Simulation Coordinator. (1%)

(2%) Oversees biohazard services, maintain safety standards with regard to use of equipment and hazardous waste disposal. (3%) Interviews, hires and evaluates the performance of student workers in the HLRC. (2%) Acts as a liaison between faculty and healthcare facilities in negotiating clinical contracts. (2%) Attends national simulation forums and conferences as appropriate to identify current trends in lab and simulation pedagogies. (2%) Assist in fit testing (N95 mask) for radiology and nursing program. (4%) Maintain faculty compliance in all health sciences department via Castle Branch/ Precheck. (1%) Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: To perform the job successfully, the following competencies are required for the essential functions of this position: Must be familiar with varied types of media such as computer software and simulation equipment. Must be a highly motivated self-starter with a high degree of technical computer knowledge. Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
