Job description

The Queens Borough President's Office seeks a dynamic, motivated individual to join the Communications Department as a Digital Design and Content Manager, who will play a key role in shaping and disseminating the office's messaging to all 2.4 million Queens residents via social media content creation, website management and more. COMMUNITY ASSOCIATE - 56057

Minimum Qualifications

Qualification Requirements 1. High school graduation or equivalent and three years of experience in community work or community centered activities in an area related to duties described above; or 2. Education and/or experience which is equivalent to "1" above.

Preferred Skills

Significant prior experience managing social media and designing content for either a government official/entity or private sector organization. Significant prior experience in both shooting and editing video content for dissemination on social media. Possesses strong writing and communication skills, as well as a strong understanding of social media platforms such as X, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. Proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Indesign and Illustrator. Maintains a solid work ethic and ability to work well in a fast-paced team setting. Ability to work night and weekend events as necessary.

Residency Requirement

New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County. To determine if the residency requirement applies to you, please discuss with the agency representative at the time of interview.
