Job Title: Environmental and Safety Compliance Specialist Department: Dentistry | Clinic Administration The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Compliance Specialist. This position supports safe and effective clinic operations through health and safety programs, record management, customer service, and day-to-day operational tasks. The specialist keeps health and safety records, tracks incident reports and corrective actions, prepares compliance reports, and helps with audits, inspections, and risk management work. The position also manages multiple independent databases, including those for licensure, certification, occupational health, respiratory protection, and other record-keeping functions, to maintain the accuracy and currency of records within each database. This role is a main contact for clinic administration communications. The specialist processes documents and answers inquiries received through shared email accounts, phone messages, and other communication methods. Duties include directing patient concerns, referrals, records requests, prescription requests, and other inquiries to the correct person and making sure follow-up occurs on time. The specialist also coordinates onboarding for clinical partners, faculty, and students who are not university employees. Duties include assigning training, requesting system access, processing ID badge requests, and collecting required documents. In addition, the role manages the review and update process for clinic operating procedures. The specialist tracks due dates, monitors approvals, maintains review records, and posts approved updates. The position provides customer service to patients, visitors, faculty, staff, and students. It also supports meetings, training sessions, and workgroups and provides backup help for clinical supply and instrument management services when needed. The specialist helps with student licensing exams and performs other duties assigned to support patient care, clinic operations, and organizational goals.
