The Team: The Intrinsic Reliability (iRel) Group is responsible for ensuring Product/Process Lifetime Robustness at ADI. This is achieved by investigating the intrinsic reliability of devices/circuits and sensors. The iRel Group employs a range of engineering disciplines including electronics, physics and materials experts. The group is split across two locations namely, ADLK (Limerick, Ireland) and ADSV (San Jose, CA). The successful candidate will reside in ADLK. The Position: The position to be filled is for a P2 Intrinsic Reliability Engineer. The engineer will be responsible for characterizing novel technologies such as electrochemical biosensors and magnetoresistive sensors through device reliability testing. Main responsibilities: Early engagement in new technology developments to understand technical risks with regards to device design and manufacturing process risks as well as customer expectations. De-risking of novel electrochemical and semiconductor devices through reliability testing utilizing industry standard testing but also through the development of bespoke stress tests and lifetime acceleration techniques. Development of statistical lifetime models to evaluate technology robustness. Collaboration with failure analysis and process/product development teams to localize and understand root cause of failures. Attendance at industry leading device/circuit reliability conferences and adoption of industry State-of-the-Art best practices. Required skills: Bachelor’s degree in chemistry/physics/material science or related field at a minimum. Master’s degree or relevant early career work experience is an advantage. Ability to multitask and pivot between multiple priorities is essential. Strong teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills are essential, coupled with a demonstrated ability to work at a high level of performance independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of reliability engineering is an advantage. Experience with Python/JMP for modelling of lifetime data is an advantage. For positions requiring access to technical data, Analog Devices, Inc. may have to obtain export licensing approval from the U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security and/or the U.S. Department of State - Directorate of Defense Trade Controls.
