Job description
Job Description Summary Lead Controls Engineer is responsible for design and developing strategies for platform hardware and applications assessments of Gas Power Control solutions, working with the controls NPI networking and OT cyber teams. This position requires independently working on HMI Platform, Networking, 3rd party communication protocols and OT Cybersecurity, in a collaborative environment, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals and cybersecurity standards. Responsibilities
Drive the product development and deployment of new technologies and lifecycle tools for application sizing, installation, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, and upgrades. Work with technical leaders, system architects, and principal engineers to develop standard procedures and test plans product design and development ensuring they meet industry standards and customer requirements. Evaluate and implement container-based technologies to enhance security posture. Test and drive security technologies for edge devices, including firewall, IDS, endpoint security solutions within the control system. Support field personnel in resolving technical issues and coordinate with manufacturing, sourcing, and services to ensure seamless integration and deployment. Work with team in a safeAgile framework. Must have a lean mindset for continuous improvement and learning new technologies. Required
Qualifications
Bachelors in Electronics Engineering/Computer Engineering/Software Engineering/Controls-Instrumentation Engineering or Industrial Automation. 6+ years of experience in Control server/network design with a focus on OT cybersecurity. Hands-on experience with Network, Compute, Data, Storage, and Application security principles for on-premises/cloud applications. Effective problem identification and solution skills with a proactive approach to OT cybersecurity challenges. Passion for continuous learning and improvement in platform development and cybersecurity practices. Desired Characteristics
Experience
and knowledge of NERC/CIP, IEC 62443 standards and other relevant cybersecurity frameworks. Ability to coordinate several programs simultaneously, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and deadlines. Commitment to staying current with emerging OT cybersecurity threats and technologies, and applying this knowledge to enhance organizational security posture. Ability to mentor and work effectively in cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.
Experience
in platform development for control systems, with a focus on enhancing security and functionality.
