Job description

Our Health Data Analysts play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of Blue Cross of Idaho’s Provider Directory. This position is responsible for analyzing provider data, identifying trends and discrepancies, supporting regulatory requirements, and delivering insights that improve provider data quality and member access to care. The Health Data Analyst partners with operational, compliance, and clinical teams to ensure provider directory information is accurate, timely, and aligned with organizational goals for quality, efficiency, and regulatory compliance. This role reports to the Manager, Provider Analytics and collaborates with a wide range of Blue Cross of Idaho teams, external vendors, and business stakeholders to support provider directory operations, reporting, compliance initiatives, and process improvement efforts. for Level I/II: Bachelor’s Degree Finance, Information Systems, Business, or related field; or equivalent work experience (Two years’ relevant work experience is equivalent to one-year college) What your day may look like: Access data warehouse and data marts to produce and/or develop relevant data and reports to support revenue and payment systems meeting industry requirements Perform various types of analysis and research, i.e. Provider accuracy, utilization, financial, compliance, product performance, group cost containment, corporate cost containment, risk, etc. Collaborate with business functional subject matter experts to validate findings and provide insights and recommendations specific to the scope of the analysis. Analyze business systems data to fulfill information requests by reviewing production processes, data models, and data-entry procedures where standard reports are needed, but not available. Identify variation and outliers in healthcare provider networks and/or services and participate in identifying and implementing solutions in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors. Oversee provider directory compliance, stakeholder engagement, and UAT activities to ensure directory-related processes, enhancements, and regulatory requirements are successfully implemented. Manage vendor relationships and partner with internal stakeholders to support vendor oversight, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and strategic initiatives. Participate in the development, maintenance and ongoing staff education of data and reporting standards for the organization. Teamwork & communication Ability to be a self-starter, while balancing multiple tasks, meeting benchmarks, government and industry deadlines Microsoft Office We'd love it if our Health Data Analyst also has: Tableau knowledge Health Insurance/Healthcare knowledge Knowledge of Provider Directory requirements Knowledge of Compliance, requirements, Procedures As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range is, level I: $66,353 - $92,894 and level II: $78,064 - $117,095. The position is eligible for an annual incentive bonus (variable depending on company and employee performance). The pay range for this position takes into account a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, travel requirements, internal equity, business or organizational needs, and alignment with market data. At Blue Cross of Idaho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top range for the position. Compensation decisions are dependent on factors and circumstances at the time of offer.
