TransUnion's Job Applicant Privacy Notice Team Overview This role will act as a senior hands-on technical specialist within the UK Data Quality team, offering the opportunity to solve complex and intellectually challenging problems arising from the scale, variety and connected nature of our data. You will go beyond identifying and reporting issues, using advanced SQL Server expertise and technical creativity to design and deliver controlled solutions that improve data quality at scale. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. Responsibilities

This role partners with stakeholders across teams including Data Governance, Data Assets, Operations, Data Services, Data Strategy, Global Technology and Consumer. It requires deep technical expertise in SQL Server, strong knowledge of large-scale data environments, and proven experience resolving complex issues involving Search and Match, merging, deduplication, splitting connected data, data quality monitoring, alerting and remediation. This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week. As a Senior Data Quality and Remediation Consultant, you will take ownership of complex data quality issues from investigation through to controlled resolution. Act as a senior technical specialist within the Data Quality team, testing hypotheses, challenging assumptions and evaluating different technical approaches to identify effective and scalable solutions. Design, develop and validate innovative SQL-based remediation solutions capable of safely addressing significant data volumes. Conduct detailed data quality investigations, identifying root causes and translating findings into actionable remediation options and delivery plans. Partner with leadership and senior stakeholders to shape the direction of data quality projects and influence departmental outcomes. Solve highly complex data quality and product issues across very large databases using advanced SQL Server development, root cause analysis and innovative thinking. Lead investigations and end-to-end remediation involving Search and Match, connected data, merging, deduplication and splitting of linked records or entities, from root cause analysis and fix design through to validation and resolution. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to ensure data quality requirements, risks, controls and validation expectations are understood and met. Design and deploy reusable tools, procedures and methodologies for data quality remediation, validation and reconciliation. Mentor and guide analysts and consultants, providing technical feedback and helping to raise capability across the team. Produce management reporting and evidence to demonstrate remediation outcomes and support governance or regulatory expectations. Required Knowledge And Experiences Significant experience in the quality management of data assets in a regulated industry, ideally within financial services, Credit Reference Agency data or similarly complex data environments. Bachelor's degree required, or significant relevant commercial experience. Very strong SQL Server coding experience, at developer level or close, with the ability to design, write, debug and optimise complex SQL for very large databases. A proven track record of solving highly complex data or product issues involving large databases, complex SQL code, ambiguous requirements and the evaluation of multiple possible solutions.

Experience

in Search and Match, including analysis and understanding of match rules, match outcomes, false positives, false negatives and related data quality impacts. Required hands-on experience designing and building large-scale or bulk data remediation solutions using SQL. This could include merging, deduping or splitting connected data, with appropriate controls, validation and reconciliation across significant data volumes. Proven experience taking complex data quality issues from root cause analysis through to controlled and validated resolution. Superior communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain complex technical issues clearly and influence colleagues at multiple levels. Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage multiple complex priorities, mentor others and act with strict adherence to confidentiality, GDPR and regulatory requirements. Desirable:

Experience

in PowerShell for automation, orchestration, data processing or operational tooling.

Experience

designing or improving data quality dashboards, alerts, automated checks or operational monitoring processes.

Experience

developing technical strategies and supporting data governance or control-based initiatives.
